Nowadays, our society often measures our lives in comparison to others and a certain ‘norm’. This brings up to a point when a lot of people are ashamed of their way of living.
We should not feel bad about ourselves. We are all beautiful people and we are unique.
You should be proud of yourself, your life, and your choice with who to share your life. You should be happy and you should bring happiness to others.
You shouldn’t stop doing the things that you like, just because a person told you or he/she thinks that you shouldn’t do that.
Here are some things you shouldn’t be ashamed anymore:
- Take some time to care for yourself
In this rat race, you can easily get lost in this hustle and bustle. You may end up just doing things for other people, and nothing for yourself. You spend the whole day making sure others are happy.
What about you?
Take some time for self-care. Take your ‘me time’. That comes in a lot of forms. You can book a five-night holiday to a destination of your preference. That is more extreme. Or you can do something more subtle and you can treat yourself with your fave meal or get a long massage or read a good book. Self-care is really important for your well-being.
- Show and express your emotions!
Are you sad or maybe angry? Maybe you are ecstatic? Express those feelings. Do not hide them.
- Chose well who you want to spend time with!
You should spend time with people that make you happy. That may be your family, your partner or your friends. You decide who you spend your time with.
Spending time with the people you like most will make you a better person.
- What about work?
Our society is obsessed with money and what job do we have. Sometimes is hard to work what you like. Students often get questions like: ‘Why are you studying that?’, ‘What are you going to do with that degree?’, ‘Who is going to pay the bills, not you with that degree?’
When a lot of people criticize your choice, you can get discouraged. Be positive about your choice.
You should not hold a grudge. That is bad for your health. You should not be ashamed to forgive a person. This is important and that will help you to move forward.
A saying says that a person is really happy if she/he has these three things: a person to love, what to do and something to hope for.
Don’t lose hope. So in a difficult time, you should be cal and just hope and everything will be fine.
- Think positive!
Sometimes we have bad days. Sometimes life has a knockout for us. You should not quit. You should think positive. The things that will not kill us, will make us stronger.
Be true to yourself!
People always regret not being true to themselves. It is your life. It is now or never. So live your life as you want.

Tribulation and trials are creating wisdom and experience. There are a lot of obstacles in our life. Don’t let them stop you. Learn from your mistakes.
With time, you will make better decisions and you will be happier and healthier.
You may love meat, or you are vegetarian or vegan, you should be proud of that.
Eat what is good for you. Eat what makes you happy and healthy, too. Listen to your own body. The body tells us exactly what we need.

You want to live a fulfilling and happy life. That takes a lot of effort, energy and time. Do not feel ashamed to strive for the best for you.
