What Happens To Your Body If You Sit Too Long?

In this modern time, we use the machines to do a lot of work with them and sometimes there is no need for manual labor. A lot of Americans have sales or office jobs and they sit for about eight or more hours per day.

A lot of people sit while they watch TV, sit in front of the computer and they sit while commuting to work and vice versa.

Technology offers a lot of benefits, but it also has some major drawbacks.

If you sit down for a long period and that happens a lot, you can cause the following problems:

  • Poor posture
  • Obesity
  • Heart disease
  • Chronic back pain

If you sit a lot you can also cause:

  • Shoulder, neck and brain problems
  • Back issues
  • Degeneration of the muscles
  • Deterioration of your organs
  • Leg disorder

How can you fight against inactivity?

First, if you are sitting for a long period, try to keep your body straight up. You can use a backless stool.

Second, stretch yourself regularly, every 30 minutes. Walk in the office for a couple of minutes. This will help the blood flow and your brain and muscles to function optimally.

Third, you can buy a standing work desk and you will help the blood flow.
