We’re used to always relying on drugs and modern medicine for every problem we have, no matter how small or insignificant it may be. But popping pills for just about everything is not such a great idea. Drugs and medications can be addictive and can have a plethora of unwanted side-effects. But what’s the alternative? Well, there are a number of traditional healing practices you could try which can provide relief from the pain and heal your body.
In today’s article we’d like to talk a bit about acupressure, as one of the most effective healing methods that ever existed. The best thing about it is that you don’t need to pay a fortune and visit some fancy professionals, you can practice it at home and get rid of the pain, easy and completely natural.
The Science of Reflexology
According to reflexology, if you press certain points on your palm you can stimulate parts of your body and heal them if you’re in pain. It’s about using pressure to eliminate the pain and resolve a great deal of health problems. It’s one of the most effective alternative medicine practices and it gives excellent results.
All you need to do it is your hands, which will be your ‘tool’ and some moisturizer. Each of the massages lasts about 6 seconds, after which you need to make a 3 second pause and apply more pressure for a few minutes. It couldn’t be simpler, but it’s super effective.
You can practice this method every day, even if you have no problem, simply to enhance your overall health and well-being and avoid problems. Many people who’re already practicing it say that it’s the best thing they’ve tried.

A Step by Step Guide
Deborah Flanagan, who is a renowned reflexologist, says that acupressure can help people suffering from sinus blockage, constipation, fatigue, back pain and diminished libido. All you need to do is massage the corresponding point on your palms and nothing more.
Apply some hand moisturizer on your hands and rub it in, massaging your palms gently until the moisturizer is absorbed. Stretch your fingers and palms to relax your hands and prepare them for the massage.
Don’t use some greasy cream because it will make the massage more difficult, as you need to target specific points on your palm to have effects.
Look at the picture and choose the point on your palm that corresponds to the pain you have. Focus on that specific point and massage it gently. Start with 6 seconds, pause for 3 and continue your massage for 2-3 minutes.
Make sure you analyze the picture thoroughly so that you can pinpoint the exact spot you need to focus on.
The massage should be done gently but firmly. Press the point and start increasing the added pressure gradually to activate the reflex and heal the pain.
Now just press the point and apply steady pressure for 30 seconds. Release.
Take a small break in between pressure sessions and repeat the process for as many times as you like.
Apply light pressure with your thumb and massage the point circularly for 5-6 seconds. Stop and repeat the motion in the opposite direction.
In the end you should relax your whole body for about 30 minutes and drink plenty of water to expel the toxins.
